Year of Family - Live the Joy of God's Love

From Our Pastor

We congratulate all students who received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation with their parents and family, and they are preparing themselves now to receive First Holy Communion (joining us around the Table of Christ). We also assist those candidates to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We thank our catechists and their sponsors as well as their parents for assisting them towards the completion of their preparation before they celebrate this sacrament with us.

We would like to thank the company ‘Forever Green Landscape’ and their workers and staff that volunteered their time and talents to mow the grass and clean the Church’s grounds at St. John of the Woods’ Church. We are incredibly grateful to them for helping us, as our volunteers are getting older, and it is harder for us to carry on with this work. We deeply appreciate the owner of Forever Green Landscape for this special contribution to assist our parish. It is hard work, but you love our parish and generously give your time and talent to assist our parish, so we can have a strong and vibrant parish that is able to assist and serve each other. We cannot think of ourselves as guests of a parish anymore, but are now the host, so we need to welcome others who are new members to our parish. We are learning to be a wonderful host and to warmly welcome new members to our Faith Community.

We thank different subcommittees for meeting to gather information from representatives of different parishes to assist us to plan for the New Parish location. It is important for us to gather information on all ministries and activities on what we need to work on and know what we can do when we move forward with this plan. In addition, we need to prepare our facilities well, so we can host our parish activities and events. I ask you to pray for our Stakeholders, as well as members of each subcommittee for what they are working hard to assist us with. They will report back to us on the information they have obtained to assist us in moving forward with the recommendation from our Pastoral Planning of our New Parish.

We thank you for your continuing support of our parish’s ministry. You are always in my daily prayers and thoughts

Fr. Tuan Nguyen, Pastor
