Mass Time Change

Starting September 5, 2021

This fall as our churches resume programs and activities, we face the need to make some changes in our Mass schedule.  The uncertain arrival date for Fr. Hendry is one factor, but also the difficulty of finding an available priest who can make a commitment to come every weekend.  Another factor is that Church law limits a priest to celebrate 3 Masses in a day, with exceptions for serious pastoral reasons.

The schedule below is based on having two full time priests serving our three Churches (St. Ann, Visitation, St. John of the Woods). In the proposal both Visitation and St. John of the Woods suffer the loss of Masses and will face new Mass times.

  • St. Ann:  Sat. Vigil 4:30pm, Sundays at 7:45am, 9:45am and 4pm
  • Visitation:  Sundays 8 am and 11:30 am
  • St. John of the Woods:  Sat. Vigil 6pm, Sundays at 9:30am and 11:30am

The Sunday schedule allows time for the priest celebrant to greet people after Mass in one parish, and then arrive at the next parish with time to prepare for the Liturgy (check the Missal, the Lectionary, review anything special, etc.).  This also allows sufficient time for the priest to travel between parishes (even in bad weather).

Thank you for your continuing support and prayers as we move through this transition period.

May the Lord, our Good Shepherd guide and protect us.

St. Ann’s Parish is hosting

Adult Catechism Classes

You are invited - Come Join Us!

Every Wednesday at 6:30pm to 7:30 starts on September 15th, 2021.

This year you can renew your gift of faith and humbly ask the Holy Spirit to bring you closer to Christ, to encounter Him in the Sacraments and especially in the Eucharist.

By coming to class, we hope you can explore the richness of our Catholic faith. Studying Scripture alongside the Catechism helps us to remember what we know already in our heart of faith and learn to apply it in our everyday lives. The class is based on Holy Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Sacred Traditions.

“These past four years in Western Washington have been a blessed experience and I look forward to continuing my ministry in the Diocese of Reno,” said Bishop Mueggenborg. “I am particularly grateful to our Holy Father for this appointment.”
